Day crewed (seven days per week) and retained
Wisbech fire station is in the Fenland district. It operates two fire engines. The first is crewed by wholetime firefighters seven days a week from 8am to 5pm. Between 5pm and 8am the fire engine is crewed by firefighters on a retained duty system. The second fire engine is permanently crewed by firefighters on a retained duty system.
The retained firefighters at Wisbech fire station train for two hours each week during their training evening. This is on a Thursday between 7pm and 9pm.
District staff are also based at Wisbech. This includes district management, administrators, community and fire safety officers, and an HR adviser.

Open Day, held on Sunday July 20
A fun-filled open day held at Wisbech Fire Station pulled in the crowds on Sunday and raised £1,200.The event attracted a constant stream of visitors throughout the day, who crowded into the drill yard to check out the many activities on offer.
Visitors to the station were able to take part in a range of action-packed activities, including a driving simulator, a fire engine `blues and twos¿ simulator and a `guess the fire hazards¿ room.
Other activities that took place on the day included: A car boot sale, climbing wall, a rodeo ride, refreshments, face painting, a performance from pupils at the Alison¿s Street Dancers, a fun fair, pony rides and a bouncy castle.
To top it all off, Stars In Their Eyes star and Elvis impersonator, Tony G did an excellent job of comparing and performing on the day and snooker legend Joe Perry, the Fen Potter, cut the ribbon to declare the event open.
The money raised will now be split between two charities, with £840 going to the Firefighters Charity and £360 to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Youth project nominated for national award - winners announced October 21
A youth project launched by Wisbech firefighters to help young people, has been nominated for the national Criminal Justice Board awards.The 16-week project aims to increase the confidence and lifestyle skills of young people living in Wisbech and is the first joint partnership between Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) and the Office of Children and Young People's Services. It is funded by the Safer Fenland Partnership. Find out more.
