Governance
The Fire Authority has external auditors appointed by central government to assess its financial standing. The Fire Authority also appoints internal auditors to ensure internal systems of control are appropriate.
In addition, Central Government (via the Audit Commission) undertakes an annual assessment of our Use of Resources and Managing Finances as part of the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA). This audit effectively looks at how well the service is using its physical resources to provide an efficient and effective service.
