Planning for the future
The Fire Authority is undertaking a review of the way it undertakes its procurement and thresholds for tendering, etc.
We aim to secure savings in time and money for both the Fire Authority and the suppliers who tender for our work, while at the same time, maintain high standards of service delivery and quality for our stakeholders.
Our plans are contained within the Fire Authority's Procurement Strategy (PDF document, 51 KB).
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority forms part of the Eastern Region made up of Bedfordshire and Luton, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk fire and rescue services. The procurement managers meet regularly and increasingly seek to collaborate on procurement opportunities where possible.
A large part of the improvement will rely upon our future approach to e-procurement, regional and national collaboration, purchasing via framework agreements and consortiums - for example the Office of Government Commerce, Firebuy and Bluelight.
