Objective
Your privacy is of the highest importance to us. This privacy policy is designed to give you a clear explanation of our data processing policies. Please note that this policy may be amended in future to reflect any changes in our services, the law or our organisation.
Information Use
Except as set out in this policy, CFRS will not sell or rent to any third party any personal information that we collect without the permission of the person to whom that information relates. CFRS may distribute the information to a third party who is working on our behalf and such use will be strictly limited to a specific activity. CFRS only uses email lists provided by email list brokers with whom we have a trusted relationship. Also, CFRS will only use email addresses provided by third parties who have confirmed that the information provided has been compiled in accordance with the Data Protection Act. This means that email addresses have been provided by the person concerned in the full knowledge that their details will be sold or distributed to other organisations.
Unsolicited Emails/Spam
CFRS strictly limits the number of emails sent to contacts and the subject of these emails will always relate to the services that we provide. It is not our intention to inundate our customers with unsolicited mail and we remove a contact's details when requested to do so.
Your information will only be used to maintain contact in relation to fire safety issues.
Opt-out
CFRS will always provide recipients with an opportunity to opt-out or 'unsubscribe' from receiving further email content. This is because we only want to send information to people who are interested in receiving it. CFRS is responsible for responding to 'opt-out' or 'unsubscribe' requests when requested to do so.
Data Protection
CFRS will always comply with the legal obligations on us in relation to data protection set out in the Data Protection Act 1998 and we are committed to complying with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive 2003.
