Workforce monitoring statistics
Public authorities have a statutory duty under the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 to monitor the ethnicity of applicants for jobs and staff in post with regards to recruitment, promotions, training, appraisals[1], grievances, capability action, disciplinary action and leavers from the organisation.
In addition to ethnicity, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, monitor other equality strands such as gender, disability[2]; age, sexual orientation and religious beliefs[3]. This is done so we can measure whether our policies and practices are equal and fair and are not having an unintended negative effect upon particular groups.
