Temporary building on fire - Dogsthorpe - Peterborough

20 April 2008, 2.28am

One crew from Dogsthorpe and one crew from Stanground were called to a fire at the Mansfield Skills Centre in Eastern Avenue, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find that this was a large temporary building, measuring 15m by 15m which was well alight.

Crews extinguished the fire using one jet, one hose reel and four breathing apparatus.

They then dampened the scene down with water and started the cutting away process to ensure that the fire was fully out.

A re-inspection took place at 7.30am, which confirmed that the fire was indeed out. The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
