Rubbish fire next to house - Millfield - Peterborough

One crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a report of rubbish on fire in the rear garden of a home in Gladstone Street, Peterborough.
Firefighters arrived to find about one tonne of rubbish, including discarded furniture which had been set alight close to the exterior wall of an extension connected to the house. The house is believed to be unoccupied.
Firefighters got to work extinguishing the fire using hose reels.
They left the scene by 3.23am.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
Steve Duffy, Watch Manager at Dogsthorpe Fire Station said: "We urge residents to keep flammable items, such as wheelie bins or discarded furniture out of sight to deter potential arsonists.
"If possible, keep them in a locked area, well away from your property."
