New arson officer introduced and Service says farewell to Lynn

SUMMER 2016

Our partners will see a new officer on the block as Station Commander Pete Jones takes the reins as arson liaison officer.

Pete has replaced Lynn Betteridge who retired from the fire service after 30 years.

Group Commander Chris Parker, head of community fire safety, said: “Lynn has been instrumental in working with police colleagues and other partners to drive down arson across the county and build more efficient working arrangements.

“We wish Lynn all the best in his retirement and thank him for his commitment to the fire service and the communities he has served in Cambridgeshire.”

Pete will take on the following responsibilities in his new role:

  • Co-ordinate the fire service response to incidents of arson within the county
  • Fire service liaison with police
  • Lead officer for road safety

Co-ordinate the CFRS fire investigation team.
