Ammonia leak - Orton Brimbles - Peterborough

Fire control received a call that a small was affecting the caller’s eyes and throat.

One crew from Stanground and one from the Peterborough Volunteers Fire Brigade attended the building in Everingham, Orton Birmbles.

Firefighters ensured everyone was out of the building and discovered a strong spell of ammonia coming from a bedroom, believed to be coming from an old fridge.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus removed the fridge into the garden.

Crews ventilated the property and two people were attended to by ambulance crews for fume inhalation.

Crews returned to their stations just after 8pm.
