Barn fire - Wimpole - South Cambs

On Thursday (12) at 10.48am, one crew from Royston, one crew from Gamlingay, one crew from Sawston and the south roaming fire engine were called to a building fire near the A603, Wimpole.

Crews arrived to find smoke issuing from a barn containing approximately 200 tonnes of straw. Firefighters worked with the farmer to remove straw from the building, and used two hose reels and a jet to extinguish the fire.

All crews returned to their stations by 4pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
