Building fire - city centre - Peterborough

One crew from Stanground and one crew from Peterborough Volunteers Fire Brigade were called to a fire on Church Street in Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the basement of a church. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The building was evacuated before crews arrived.  The crews returned to their stations by 6.50pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
