Building fire - Minerva Way - Cambridge

Two crews from Cambridge and a crew from Cottenham were called to a fire in a property that housed flats in Minerva Way, Cambridge.

There was a fire in the stairwell of a property that housed flats and the occupants could not leave because their escape route was blocked.

Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reels and led three adults and two children to safety out of the property.

Positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear smoke.

Paramedics treated two children for smoke inhalation.

The crews returned to their stations by 4.35am.
