Cambridge car wash to raise cash for charity

Cambridge firefighters will be getting soapy at a charity car wash.

The event at Parkside Place Community Fire and Rescue Station, Cambridge, will run from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, September 17.

Owners of bicycles, mobility scooters, vans, trucks and even push chairs have been known to turn up for their wheels to be scrubbed clean at these events and firefighters will welcome vehicles of all shapes and sizes through the doors.

The event will be raising cash for The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support, rehabilitation and care for fire service personnel across the country.

Firefighter Chrissy Fisher, one of the organisers, said: “Car washes in Cambridge are always really well supported by the community and we hope lots of motorists will pop along on the day to help us raise funds for this worthwhile charity.”
