Charity fun at Linton Fire Station
An extravaganza of charity fun including a car wash, baking competition and tombola is running at a South Cambridgeshire fire station.
Linton Fire Station is hosting the event on Saturday, June 4, from 10am until 4pm.
Supporters can pop along to have their car washed, take part in tombola, look around the fire station and enter the national Bake A Difference cake competition, all in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity.
A host of local businesses, including Linton Co-op, are supporting the event.
Organiser Firefighter John Reynolds said: “We’re really looking forward to this event and hope the community will come out to support us and the fantastic charity we’re raising money for.”
Entries for Bake A Difference must be brought to Linton Fire Station by 11am on the day of the event for judging to promptly begin at midday. There will be prizes for Best Looking Cake and Best Tasting Cake and the winners will be entered into the national final judged by The Great British Bake Off star and firefighter Mat Riley on June 10.
All the cakes will be sold on the day in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity. The cake sale that raises the most money nationally will win the Charity’s coveted Golden Rolling Pin trophy, and the winning baker will receive a huge chocolate hamper.
