Chemical leak - Perry - Huntingdonshire

Crews were called to reports of a chemical leak at Grafham Water Treatment Works in Perry.
Crews from St Neots, Papworth, Ramsey, Sawtry and Huntingdon attended.
Alarms both within and outside the site were sounding. The crews investigated with the onsite team and discovered a chlorine gas leak.
A multi-agency plan, involving Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Anglian Water, Environment Agency and Cambridgeshire County Council, was quickly set up and residents in Perry were advised to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.
The crews worked closely with the onsite team at Anglian Water to ensure the leak was contained. No chemical left the site during the incident. The external warning siren did sound as a precaution while the work took place.
The incident was resolved and crews left the scene at around 11pm.
