Fatal road traffic collision - Gamlingay - South Cambs

Crews from Gamlingay and St Neots were called to a road traffic collision in Drove Road, Gamlingay.

On the arrival of crews, firefighters worked with paramedics to administer CPR to two people who were believed to be pedestrians involved in the collision. 

One other casualty was rescued from a vehicle by firefighters using specialist cutting equipment. 

Crews returned to their stations by 11.45am.

Sadly one of the pedestrians, an elderly man, suffered fatal injuries. A young boy, also a pedestrian, was flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by the air ambulance where he remains in a critical condition. The driver of one of the cars has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
