Fire in the open - Sawtry - Huntingdonshire

At 11.38am on Saturday (20) a crew from Sawtry was called to a fire in the open in Old North Road, Sawtry.

A passer by could see smoke and called 999. When the crew arrived they found rubble and hedgerow well alight and used two hose reels to extinguish the fire, assisted by the land owner dragging the materials out with a digger.

The crew returned to their station by 1.40pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
