Flat fire - Millfield - Peterborough

Crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground and Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade were called to a flat fire in Cromwell Road, Millfield.
Smoke was issuing from a ground floor flat when crews arrived and it was heavily smoke logged.
The residents had safely evacuated the property by the time firefighters arrived.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire positive pressure ventilation fans to clear smoke.
Crews returned to their stations by 12.15am.
The cause of fire is under investigation.
Update May 25:
A fire investigation has determined the fire was started deliberately.
