Free workshop to help Wisbech businesses stay fire-safe
Business owners can take advantage of free workshops in Wisbech to get to grips with fire safety and legislation.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Community Fire Protection team is running a series of free sessions at Wisbech Fire Station over the coming months with the first one on Wednesday, April 20.
The two-hour sessions start at 9am and aim to give people a brief explanation of the Fire Safety Order and the requirements of a fire risk assessment.
Three further seminars at the town’s fire station are also planned for July 12, September 14 and November 22.
Andy Wright, Fire Protection Advisor at CFRS, said: “We want to assist businesses in Fenland to be as fire-safe as possible and we’re hoping these free sessions will help us achieve that goal. Fire risk assessments and legislation can sometimes be complicated so these workshops make it relevant to the trade and premises of local businesses and help break it down.
“The seminars give business owners and managers a better understanding of regulatory responsibilities and guide them on how to conduct a fire risk assessment. We can also organise free workshops to focus on specific sectors of the business community, such as licensing, retail, care homes etc.”
