House fire - Ramsey St Mary's - Huntingdonshire

Crews from Stanground and Whittlesey were called to a house fire in the bedroom of a home in Herne Road.

Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke before returning to their stations by 0.10am.

The fire was started by disgarded smoking materials.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Tobacco is designed to stay alight and as a result, cigarettes can easily start an accidental fire so please make sure you have put it out properly.”
