Car fire – A14 - South Cambs

At 6.30pm on Monday (21) crews from Huntingdon, Cambridge and Cottenham were called to a fire on the A14. 

Firefighters arrived to find a car on fire on the eastbound carriageway between Godmanchester and Swavesey. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel. A male casualty required treatment for smoke inhalation and burns.  

The crews returned to their stations by 8.20pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
