Kitchen fire - Wisbech - Fenland

Two crews from Wisbech were called to a house fire in New Drove, Wisbech.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish a fire in a ground floor kitchen. The fire was contained to a grill pan and the two residents were out of the property on the arrival of the fire service.

Positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear smoke from the property.

The two residents were treated for smoke inhalation.

Crews returned to their station by 12.15am.

The cause of the fire was accidental by person – the grill pan caught light while food was being cooked.
