Log burner fire - Eye - Peterborough

A crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a fire in the flue of a log burning stove.

Firefighters used chimney roads to extinguish the fire and returned to their station by 2.54am.

Crews also fitted two smoke alarms at the property along with a carbon monoxide alarm.

A spokesperson for CFRS said: “We would urge anyone who has a fuel-burning device to fit a carbon monoxide alarm. If the alarm sounds and you can smell fumes or are concerned, do not hesitate, call 999 immediately and leave the property.”
