Road traffic collision - Leverington - Fenland

Two crews from Wisbech and the rescue vehicle from Kings Lynn attended a road traffic collision involving a people carrier which had left the road and ended up in a ditch.

In total there were eight casualties. Three managed to get out of the car before crews arrived and firefighters worked closely with ambulance crews to release five casualties who were trapped.

Firefighters also assisted the ambulance service with administering first aid. One casualty was taken to hospital.

Incident Commander Ady Slack said: “Crews were faced with a difficult situation with five casualties trapped in the vehicle. They worked closely with colleagues from the ambulance service to release the casualties safely.”

Crews returned to their stations around 8am.
