Road traffic collision - Huntingdon - Huntingdonshire

Two crews from Huntingdon were called to a road traffic collision in St Peter’s Road after a car came off the road in icy conditions.

Firefighters freed the driver using specialist cutting equipment to remove a door on the car which had come off the road in icy conditions and ended up in a ditch.

Crews assisted ambulance staff by carrying the casualty out of the car on a stretcher in a neck brace. They were later transferred to hospital by ambulance staff.

Station Commander Giles Grainger reminded drivers to take care whilst driving in icy conditions, particularly on more rural roads which had not been gritted.
