Stack fire - Dogsthorpe - Peterborough

Stack fire, Dogsthorpe, January 2018On Tuesday (16) at 9.21pm, one crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a stack fire on the A16 near Dogsthorpe.

Crews arrived to find 20 bales of hay alight and used a hose reel and drags to extinguish the fire.

Crews returned to re-inspect the stack at 11.26pm to find another section of the stack had been set alight.

Firefighters made regular checks overnight to ensure it burnt out safely and worked with the Police to manage the nearby traffic.

Regular inspections will continue throughout the day.
