Tumble dryer fire - Papworth - South Cambs

Crews from Papworth and Huntingdon were called to a tumble dryer on fire in Papworth Hospital, Papworth Everard.

Smoke was issuing from the building and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish a fire involving a tumble dryer. Positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear smoke.

Crews returned to station by 7.25pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental, believed to be started when towels inside the tumble dryer, which possibly had oil on them, overheated.
