FIREFIGHTERS from across the county will be getting their hands dirty this Saturday and next Saturday as they take part in a charity car wash.

Residents across Cambridgeshire once again have the chance to swap washing their car for a day out with family and friends, all for a good cause.

The charity car wash will be held at various fire stations across the county on Saturday, September 25 and Saturday, October 2. All proceeds will go to The Fire Fighters Charity, an organisation which helps 13,000 men, women and children from the fire community every year.

Events taking place on Saturday, September 25:

  • Chatteris Fire Station - 10am to 4pm

Events taking place on Saturday, October 2:

  • Cambridge Fire Station - 10am to 4pm
  • Kimbolton Fire Station - 10am to 4pm
  • Outside Rose and Crown public house on High Street in Manea - 10am to 1pm
  • St Ives Fire Station - 11am to 3pm
  • Burwell Fire Station -10am to 4pm

.Jon Neish, Cambridgeshire representative for The Fire Fighters Charity, said: "We are really looking forward to taking part in this national fundraising day.

"The shampoo has been donated to us once again by Autoglym, meaning that every penny made on the day will go to charity.

"We would encourage members of the local community to come and support us, and take advantage of the time to talk to firefighters about fire safety whilst getting a nice clean car."
