About Support
You don't have to wear a firefighter's uniform and run into burning buildings to help save lives to have a rewarding career with us.
We have a whole host of career opportunities in non-operational functions to support the frontline and each role is equally important in helping us achieve our vision to reduce risk and save lives. So whether you're a cook, communications officer, accountant, HR adviser, vehicle engineer, data analyst, personal assistant, business manager or have other professional skills or attributes to offer, why not consider a role with us.
For each of our support staff vacancies there are three documents that we make available as standard, they are:

All the above will be available for download from each vacancy details page. From time to time there may be additional documents we ask you to download - this will depend on the specific vacancy.

If you choose to return the application form electronically, please use the email address recruitment@cambsfire.gov.uk. You do not need to send a paper copy as well. If you are invited to attend an interview, we may at that stage ask you to check and sign a paper copy of your application form.
If you wish receipt of your application to be acknowledged, please ensure it is clear in your returned email or enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope with your returned application.
Please DO NOT include your CV or personal references as they will NOT be considered during the selection process.
Short-listing for the post will take place shortly after the closing date and you will be notified of the outcome of the short-listing.
We are keen to encourage applications from all parts of the community, and to ensure this is happening we need to monitor information that some may regard as personal and sensitive. This information will be held in confidence and used only for statistical monitoring purposes. It will not be used in any part of the selection process. Please return the diversity monitoring form in a separate envelope when you post your application form. If you are sending the copy via email, please be assured that this will be separated from your application form before the selection process begins.
