The aim of the SaferPeterborough Partnership is to make the city of Peterborough a safer place to live and work in.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is an integral part of the partnership with a fire officer seconded to the scheme to co-manage the different areas of the partnership, which include:
- Serious Acquisitive Crime
- Anti-Social Behaviour
- Domestic Abuse
- Violent Crime
- Hate Crime
- Serious Sexual Offences
- Road Safety
- Substance Misuse
These priorities were decided after a strategic assessment was carried out. The SPP looked at data from a wide range of organisations to help paint a picture of what crime and disorder is like in our city. It listened to what you, the public, said through the SPP neighbourhood panels, citizens panel, face the people consultation events and weeks of action.
Other organisations we work with to deliver the priorities of the SPP include:
- Peterborough City Council
- Cambridgeshire Constabulary
- Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service
- NHS Peterborough
- Cambridgeshire Police Authority
- Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Probation Trust
Together we work in partnership with a wide range of other services across the public and voluntary sector and community groups that contribute significantly to community safety.
