Bonfire out of control - Millfield - Peterborough

A crew from Peterborough Volunteers Fire Brigade was called to a bonfire out of control in Parliament Street.

Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and returned to their station by 4.57pm.

Cause of the fire was accidental by person.

Top tips if having a bonfire are:

• Light the fire well away from buildings, sheds, fencing and shrubs/trees
• Stay with the bonfire at all times until it is out
• Keep children and animals away from the fire
• Do not light the bonfire if it is breezy as the wind can cause the bonfire to quickly spread.
