Crews from Yaxley, Stanground and Dogsthorpe were called to a single vehicle road collision in Station Road after a car came off the road and ended up on its roof in a ditch.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to extricate a casualty from the car but sadly they were pronounced dead at the scene.
A second casualty was flown to hospital by air ambulance and a third was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
Crews returned to their stations by 5.28pm.
