Cattle shed fire - Meldreth - South Cambs

On Thursday (22) at 4.35pm, one crew from Cambridge, one crew from Gamlingay and the south roaming fire engine were called to a fire in a cattle shed on Malton Lane, Meldreth.

Crews arrived to find a fire in a cow shed involving around 50 tonnes of straw.

Wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reels and small gear, firefighters extinguished the fire.

All livestock was accounted for.

The crews returned to their stations by 8pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
