Kitchen fire – Chesterton - Cambridge

At 9.20pm on Wednesday (20) one crew from Cambridge and one crew from Cottenham were called to a fire on Water Street in Chesterton.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the kitchen of a pub involving a fryer. They quickly moved the fryer into a courtyard to prevent any fire spread and extinguished it using hose reels and a carbon dioxide extinguisher.

The crews checked the kitchen area for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera, and then returned to their stations by 11.10pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
