Tanker fire – Flint Cross - South Cambs

At 10.25am on Friday (13) crews were called to a fire on Barley Road in Flint Cross.

Two crews from Cambridge, the south roaming fire engine, one crew from Gamlingay, two crews from Huntingdon, along with crews from Royston and Baldock in Hertfordshire attended the scene.

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving two chemical fertiliser tankers, which was quickly spreading to a nearby barn and trees. Wearing breathing apparatus the crews extinguished the fire and returned to their stations by 5.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
