Building fire – Petersfield ward - Cambridge
At 1.14pm on Wednesday (8) one crew from Cambridge and one crew from Sawston were called to a fire on Norfolk Street in Petersfield ward, Cambridge.
Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the extraction unit of a restaurant. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
One male casualty was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation and burns by ambulance.
The crews returned to their stations by 3.15pm.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
