Flat fire – Cherry Hinton ward - Cambridge

At 12.32am on Tuesday (25) two crews from Cambridge were called to a fire on Walpole Road in Cherry Hinton ward, Cambridge.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a flat. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel.

One male casualty was rescued from the property and required treatment for smoke inhalation, before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

The crews returned to their station by 2.30am.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
