Update - Tuesday July 16, 4.30pm

Crews remain at the scene of the fire making sure any hot spots are extinguished and ensuring the area is safe.

The complexity of the building and the damage to the structure has presented challenges for the crews. It has not been safe to enter the building to tackle the fire from within, so firefighters have been damping down from the outside.

A cordon remains in place to ensure crews can tackle the fire safely and that the area is safe for the public. We apologise for the inconvenience to residents as this will have caused significant delays throughout the day. We hope to reopen the road as soon as possible, but in the meantime please avoid the area.
