At 12.02pm on Thursday (26) a crew from Sawston was called to a fire on Haverhill Road in Stapleford.
Firefighters arrived to find a chimney fire in a house and extinguished it. They returned to their station by 1.30pm.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
A fire service spokesman said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brickwork inspected at least once a year, preferably before lighting it for the first time after a period of not using it. This will help to prevent a chimney fire and keep your home safe.”
