House fire – Chesterton - Cambridge

At 3.17pm on Sunday (26) a crew from Cambridge was called to a fire on Scotland Road in Chesterton, Cambridge.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a fence and bush and extinguished it using a hose reel. They returned to their station by 4pm.

A fire service spokesman said: “The fire was started after the flames from a BBQ spread quickly to a fence. When having a BBQ it is important to remember to place it on an even surface and keep it away from any garden furniture and fences, as well as keeping distance from the property. Also never leave a BBQ unattended as fire can quickly spread and get out of control.”
