Building fire - Waterbeach - South Cambs

On Sunday (12) at 3.42pm, two crews and the multistar from Cambridge, one crew from Cottenham, and one crew from Sutton were called to a fire at an industrial site on Ely Road, Waterbeach.

Crews arrived to find around 50 tonnes of household waste well alight within a building.

Firefighters used two jets and on site ground monitors to get the fire under control. Firefighters worked with onsite diggers to break up the rubbish and extinguish the fire.

Crews returned to their stations by 11pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
