Building fire - Waterbeach - South Cambs

On Sunday (4) at 7.07am, one crew from Cottenham, and one crew and the multistar aerial appliance were called to a fire at a recycling site on the industrial estate on Ely Road, Waterbeach.

Station Commander Paul Clarke who responded to the incident commented;

“Crews arrived to find a fire involving 12 tonnes of mixed household recycling waste. Using a water pump and nearby water supply, firefighters worked alongside onsite staff to tackle the fire and bring it under control quickly and safely, preventing further spread to other areas.”

Firefighters returned to their stations by 11am. The cause of the fire was accidental.
