Machinery fire – Alwalton Hill - Peterborough

At 7.08pm on Wednesday (7) crews from Yaxley, Dogsthorpe, Stanground and Whittlesey, along with the water carrier from Ramsey and the north roaming fire engine, were called to a fire on Waterworth Road in Alwalton Hill.

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving large waste compactor. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and a jet. They returned to their stations by 9.40pm.
