Road traffic collision – A11 - South Cambs

At 8.56pm on Saturday (2) crews from Cambridge and Linton, along with crews from Saffron Walden in Essex and a water carrier from Newmarket in Suffolk, were called to a road traffic collision on the A11.

Firefighters arrived to find a collision involving a car and a lorry on the northbound carriageway near Stump Cross. As a result of the collision, the lorry had caught fire. The crews ensured the fire was fully extinguished and worked with a recovery firm to remove from the lorry for recovery.

Crews left the scene at around 3am. One Cambridge crew returned at 8.40am on Sunday (3) a final inspection of the lorry before it was removed from the scene.
