Flat fire – Coleridge ward - Cambridge

At 10.32pm on Thursday (8) crews were called to a fire on Homerton Street in Coleridge ward, Cambridge.  

Crews from Cambridge, Burwell, Linton and Huntingdon, along with crews from Newmarket in Suffolk, attended the incident. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire on the third floor of a multi-storey block of flats, with heavy smoke spreading along the corridor. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a jet and returned to their stations by 1.40am. 

No casualties required treatment for any injuries.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
