Building fire – Fulbourn - South Cambs

At 12.44am on Tuesday (27) crews from Cambridge and Linton were called to a fire on Haggis Gap in Fulbourn. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire on the ground floor of a health centre. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and a jet. They returned to their stations by 3am. 

Crews have made regular inspections throughout the morning to ensure the area is safe and the fire is fully extinguished.  

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

The investigation has confirmed the cause of the fire was deliberate. 

Police officers have arrested a man on suspicion of arson, criminal damage and assaulting an emergency worker.
