House fire - Sawston - South Cambs

On Saturday (7) at 10.36pm, crews were called to a house fire on Hayfield Avenue, Sawston. Crews from Cambridge, Cottenham, Burwell, Gamlingay, Manea and Huntingdon, responded. A drone pilot also attended.

Firefighters arrived to find a bungalow fire affecting three properties. Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used jets to extinguish the fire and dampen down any hotspots.

All persons were accounted for.

One person was treated by paramedics.

A fire investigation dog from Essex attended to assist the fire investigators.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.

All crews returned to their stations by 4am.
