Car fire – A14 - South Cambs

At 4.10pm on Wednesday (29) crews from Cambridge, along with a crew from Newmarket in Suffolk, were called to a fire on the A14.  

Firefighters arrived to find a car well alight on the eastbound carriageway between Quy and Exning. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and check the area for hot spots using a thermal imagine camera.  

The crews returned to their stations by 5.50pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
