Car fire – Ely - East Cambs

At 7.51am on Wednesday (10) a crew from Chatteris was called to a fire on Prickwillow Road in Ely. 

Firefighters arrived to find a car well alight in a ditch. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 10.20am. 

A casualty was out of the vehicle when the crews arrived. They were given first aid and left in the care of ambulance crews.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
