House fire – Marholm - Peterborough

At 11.24am on Thursday (11) crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were called to reports of a house fire on Walton Road, Marholm. 

Firefighters arrived to find the house heavily smoke logged. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.  

A female casualty was found in the house and sadly died at the scene.  

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
